7-Day Catamaran Skipper Training

The course for obtaining a Skipper’s License Category B (valid for Croatian territorial waters only) is designed to combine essential theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on experience. The program begins with practical training aboard a Catamaran, taking place from Sunday to Monday. This immersive experience allows participants to develop real-situation vessel-maneuvering skills. The theoretical portion of the course is held in a classroom setting on Tuesday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Immediately following the theory session, participants will take the official Exam at 3:00 PM.

SKIPPER TRAINING ON A CATAMARAN: 7days
DATE: 24.10.-30.10. 2026.
* The purpose of this program is to train attendants with the skills in order to become complete self confident - skipper to be able to rent a catamaran in charter. After completing the course, it is essential to continue refining your skipper skills through additional days spent at sea, gradually building confidence and improving safety. While one week is sufficient for participants to gain the necessary knowledge and master the fundamental techniques of handling a catamaran, true experience comes with time. Seamanship is developed over years of practice on the water.

*Optional: Skipper Training on a Catamaran + INTERNATIONAL SKIPPER LICENSE - Boat Lider Category C program.
For participants who wish to obtain an International Skipper’s License, the course is structured to combine both theoretical knowledge and extensive practical training. The program begins with classroom-based theory sessions held from Saturday to Monday, running daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Tuesday is reserved for the mandatory medical examination, followed by the initial practical training 5h session on a sailing yacht, as required by the official curriculum.
From Wednesday to Thursday, participants take part in an intensive hands-on training program aboard a Catamaran, allowing them to further develop their navigation and seamanship skills in real conditions. The final Exam is scheduled for Friday at 1:00 PM. After completing the exam, participants are free to depart.

Head of our Yachting in Croatia Academy is Mario Kundih, who holds a degree from the Faculty of Kinesiology, is a professional skipper with more than 25 years of experience and a sailing instructor, holds an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate from the Royal Yachting Association, and has also earned a Certificate of Completion of the Professional Development Program for Sailing Coach at the Olympic Academy in Croatia.
