The Adriatic Sea has a distinctive feature that positions it in front of other fishing locations. In other words, the BLUE-FIN TUNA, otherwise a highly migratory species has selected the Adriatic Sea as their home and this is the only known location on earth where blue-fin can be captured at any time of the year.
Blue-fin tuna is not the Adriatic's only major big game species. SWORDFISH, which is present in decent numbers, is the ultimate fishing challenge for many fishermen. The BLUE SHARK is targeted by Adriatic's big game fisherman.
March and April give excellent fishing experience in the inshore waters for small TUNNIES that arrive in enormous numbers. Little tunnies grow up to 13 kg in the Adriatic, the average fish is about 10 kg.
During the fall, the big objective are ALBACORES and AMBER JACK.
