Rhodes/Mandraki Port
Rhodes is the capital of the Dodecanese, the largest and the most historically important. Rhodes contains such treasures as the Medieval town of the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem; the old town is one of the largest medieval towns in Europe and is UNESCO World Heritage protected. A mosaic of cultures reveals itself with every step – fortresses, narrow alleyways, fountains, minarets, churches, thriving town squares…
The Mandraki Marina is located on the Northern tip of the island and is actually the old town harbor. The marina gets very busy in high season, so booking in advance is advised. The facilities are very basic but its location directly below the medieval castle and opposite the Market Square makes it attractive to sailors and visitors.
Warning: Strong NW winds can cause a swell in the harbor. Beware of shallow waters and reefs to the North of the harbor entrance. Chain from the mooring lines runs along the length of the quay, so if you plan to drop your anchor, do so further out and release the majority of your chain to avoid getting snagged.
Berth Characteristics • 120 berths for up to 50m length and 5m draught.
