The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, off the northwest coast of Africa. The archipelago consists of several islands and islets; the seven main Canary Islands are Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. The Canary Islands have a sub-tropic climate and diverse landscape thanks to its volcanic nature and origins; famous black and white sand beaches, the ‘Cascada de Colores’ waterfalls of La Palma, pine forests, lush green and mountainous scenes to lava fields and barren flatlands are just a few images to depict this rich and varied region, leaving you many wonders to discover in one region.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria was first inhabited as early as 500 BC by the North African Canarii; moving forward, it was conquered in the 15 th Century under the rule of Queen Isabella I, folding it into the Spanish Empire. With the incredible variations in landscape and micro-climates, Gran Canaria has a reputation for being its own mini-continent; from thick forests, imposing mountains to its desert-like south, it is a unique island destination. For the active or adrenalin seekers, there are also myriad activities – kayaking, hiking, biking, canyoning, horse riding, scuba diving… a great destination for people who want to get off-the-beaten-path, relax or explore.

The Puerto Deportivo de Las Palmas (Port of Las Palmas Marina) is located in the city of Las Palmas; a large marina with a focus on nautical activities and tourism.
