TRAIN & RACE

TRAIN & RACE

22.03.- 28.03.2025

SAILING LEVEL - Beginner, Advanced

The Train and Race program is designed to equip attendees with the skills and knowledge needed to participate independently in competitive sailing. Through this course, you’ll gain the expertise to apply your training effectively on the regatta field, helping you to navigate the challenges of racing with confidence and skill.

Our Train and Race program is tailored for individuals eager to dive into the world of competitive sailing. Whether you’ve completed our Advanced Sailing Course or already have some sailing experience, this course will elevate your skills and prepare you for success on the regatta field.

Throughout the program, participants will:

  • Learn the theory of competitive sailing, including regatta rules, key terminology, and the nuances of race tactics.
  • Master all positions on the boat, from bow to stern, ensuring every participant gains hands-on experience in each role, which is crucial for team coordination and effective racing.
  • Focus on team building, with a special emphasis on developing a strong team spirit, essential for success in the fast-paced and collaborative environment of a regatta.

Special attention will be given to sail trim techniques for Code 0, Gennaker, and Spinnaker, which are vital for optimizing performance in different wind conditions. To prepare for real-world regatta challenges, we’ll conduct simulation training in regatta-like conditions, including:

  • Arrivals and mark rounding (both windward and leeward marks).
  • Regatta starts, where timing and strategy are key.

This program is designed to immerse participants in the full experience of competitive sailing, helping you gain the skills, confidence, and team coordination necessary to perform at your best during a regatta.
